Background
Ecstatic at the reappointment of Necker, the rabble of Paris takes to the streets, where they burn Loménie in effigy. Two days later, they return to the street and burn Lamoignon in effigy before seeking him at his house. He has escaped, and the rioters are quelled with force. The Estates-General will meet in May.
